While most were ogling Mick Jagger’s old, but still-relevant dance moves on 12/12/12, BikeGuard was sponsoring the Transportation Alternatives (T.A.) Member Holiday Party at Brooklyn Brewery.
Here is some of the team, enjoying the holiday event with Transportation Alternatives (T.A.).
Every year, thousands of bikes are recovered, but without proper identification, they’re never returned to their owners. BikeGuard is a free bicycle registry created by SmartSign that helps you retrieve your lost or stolen bike. It’s simple: you register your bike online, and we send you a QR asset tag, coded with your information, that you stick on your bike. If your bike is ever lost or stolen and recovered, a quick scan of the code by smartphone or any other QR device identifies you as the owner.
We partner with Transportation Alternatives to promote better designed bike lanes, more greenways, and reduce bike theft. The folks over at TA boast a strong and organized membership and have been integral in numerous campaigns for pedestrians, bikers, and public transit. We encourage you to check them out.
The BikeGuard registry, however, isn’t restricted to New York. We’re national. Just click here to sign up and we will send you tags to display on your bike. If your bike is found, we will contact you right away.
BikeGuard tags are made with AlumiGuard®; the code is embedded with aluminum, and the high-bond adhesive backing fuses permanently to your bike.
Brooklyn Brewery sponsored the event. On our lovely tour of the facilities, we not only tasted some great ales and lagers, but got a glimpse into their plans to bring more brewing capacity into their Brooklyn location (with new fermenter tanks so large they had to pull them in through the ceiling). We’re so grateful to everyone involved. See ya next time!
